My debut graphic novel, Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer, was released in October 2009.

The book is illustrated by Dustin Higgins.

Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer has been praised by Publishers Weekly, Comic Book Resources, USA Today and lots of other outlets. It was named one of Ten Great Graphic Novels for Teens by the American Library Association.

You can buy it at Amazon or on iTunes through Comixology. A free preview of the book is available right here.

Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer: Of Wood and Blood (Part One) brings the tale of everyone’s favorite slayer full circle as Pinocchio discovers the secret behind the vampire menace and the truth of his own origin.

The book features fights on hot air balloons and runaway coaches and sees Pinocchio unite with some most unexpected vampire-fighting allies.

“Sure, the concept of a puppet fighting Dracula is absurd, but Jansen plays the key character scenes with heart and emotion… all while dropping in solid action and good laugh lines.” — From a review at Crisis on Infinite Midlives

It’s available for purchase via Comixology or in print from Amazon right here.

The final book in the Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer series is now available!

Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer: Of Wood and Blood (Part Two) sees a newly determined Pinocchio take the fight to Vlad Tepes III, better known as Vlad the Impaler.

But how will Pinocchio possibly overcome a seemingly immortal foe and his endless undead horde?

You’ll have to read the book to find out!

The book is available through Comixology or in print at Amazon.

Coming soon(ish) is Snow White: Through a Glass, Darkly, which is my spin on another classic fairy tale.

I’m teaming up with artists Robin Holstein and Neal Obermeyer to ask, “What if it wasn’t the stepmother that was evil, but instead it was the mirror?” With that simple premise, the comic expands into an exploration of the dual lives of Snow White and her stepmother, Astrid, showing how each comes under the sway of the powerful, nefarious mirror.

The six-issue series will (probably) debut in digital format in 2013.
